10 Good Reasons To Learn To Swim
1) 70% of Earth is surrounded by water. Even in mountain area, there are rivers flowing through the valley. In the city you live, there are lakes and rivers. Basically we are surrounded by water.
2) You don't depend on others if disaster happened. Disaster do happened, example boat sink or capsize during an island trip, flooding in your area, accident during a water activities. In this situation,if you are a swimmer you will be more confidence to face it and survive.
3) A good exercise that keeps you fit, healthy and work all your body muscle. Swimming works out your whole body, develop general strength, improves cardiovascular fitness, endurance and gradually increase your heart rate. Improves body's use of oxygen without overworking the heart. It also prevents most of the injury occurs in land exercise.
4) Improves your self esteem. When you feel fit and healthy, you have a more positive approach to life. You have learned to swim and now you have the confidence to try or learn other activities.
5) Relaxes your mind. Water is a medium that can free your mind. Even when you bath, water pouring through your head, you feel relax and free from pressure and stress. When you swim or floating in the water, you will be totally in a relax mood.
6) Experience the joy of floating. Floating can be done either in air, space or in the water. While in the air or space is it costly and high risk, by floating in water it is easy and less risky. All you need just a swimming pool or beach. When you are floating is a totally a new experience.
7) Opportunities to other water based activities. When you know how to swim, it opens to a lot of water based activities like Rafting, Kayaking, Sailing, Wind Surfing, Surfing, Jet-Ski and Diving. You feel more confidence and enjoy more than those non-swimmer.
8) By nature, human can swim. Males has about 65% and Females has 55% of body mass is water. This mean our body is naturally bouyant and only need a little efforts to swim and float.
9) An activities helps to recover injuries. Most of the time athletes use swimming or exercise in the water as an aid to recovery from injuries. This is because swimming take place in water medium which does not put any pressure or stress on our joints.
10) Swimming is great for outing. Swimming adds value to your holidays. Imagine you in a beautiful beach and you can't swim !! You can also easily socialise with people in the beach and involves in the water activities.
