In the past several years, going in back in time to find our most fashionable look has become a mainstream phenomenon. Shopping at second hand stores, vintage clothing shops, and used clothing stores, once solely the shopping domain for the poor, has now become trendy and practical. In fact existing high-class shopping mall often have stores that present vintage, hippie, retro on their very own display window.
Retro clothing is a very hot item today. Not only is it reminiscent of times gone by, it's also a great way to create your own unique style and save money at the same time. Most people are struggling financially now, so it's hard to buy new fashions and stay within our budget. Wearing retro clothes lets us flaunt your fashion flair and pinch pennies, though no one will ever guess you're cutting corners with this rocking look.
One of the greatest things about retro fashion is it offers such a wide variety of styles to choose from anywhere between the 1920s to the 1980s. That's 60 years of fantastic styles from which to choose our own look. We can watch movies from the eras we're interested in, check out books that feature fashions of the decades or go online and surf around sites that offer retro clothing to find the reference of retro style we desire.
We don't have to limit ourselves to choose clothing from just one of those decades. With a little careful planning we can mix and match items from different eras. If we cannot go without denim, try to put a faded color jean with vintage t shirts to bring out casual feel. Shoes from the 40s paired with a miniskirt from the 60s can make a great combo. Just remember, it's what you like that counts. If you think it looks good together, it probably does.
