Just 19 km from the town of Rishikesh, the tranquil town of Shivpuri is much popular with tourists for its Shiva temples, Yoga Camps and a host of Adventure Sports Activities & Riverside Beach Camps. Situated amongst the thick forest on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway at an altitude of 480 m, is the place of the mighty waters of Ganga, which are most ideal for whitewater river rafting. The Kali and the Jori rivers meet at Jauljibi, where the water level increases, perfect for ace professionals. For over 110 kms from Jauljibi to Tanakpur, its rapids are Grade IV, and more. Lower down among the forested slopes, the river becomes calmer, offering the amateur a sporting challenge, before flowing out into the plains of Uttaranchal

 

Safety Tips –

White water rafting can be a dangerous sport, especially if basic safety precautions are not observed. Rafting should never be done solo.  If you're a newbie rafter, try going with an experienced guide.  If you're experienced, do go with other experienced rafters. Your guide knows what you should do and when to do then always follow their instructions. Drinking alcohol before rafting will only danger for yourself. Always wear a life jacket and helmet. Take dry bags or boxes to keep small personal items. Any necessary medicines and prescriptions such as inhalers, bee-sting kits, insulin etc. must be taken. Do not keep Car keys, wallets, cell phones and other important items during your rafting. Enjoy your river rating with follow these tips.
