• Now open the drain plug of your device. This drain plug is located on the bottom of the filter. This is done to empty out the water that is sitting in this unit. However, if you own a sand filter, skip this step. It is because by doing so the sand will also run out through your drain plug.

• Then get a hose. To rinse your device, there is no need to remove it from the container. Simple keep the hose over the device and gently spray it. It is better not to use high pressure water while spraying it. Also make sure that the water is getting inside the creases. This will help you to remove all the dirt from this area effectively. Those who have cartridge filter must be very careful while doing this as high pressure of water can ruin the coils.

• You can even set the valve of these Pentair filters to "backwash". In fact, there are as many as six selections that you can opt for. Backwash is one of them. This option also helps you to release the water from this pool accessory.
