Most people think six-pack abs represent the pinnacle of bodily perfection. Most people are wrong. The very most elite body sculptors know that an 8-pack is the gold standard in physique toning.
So what's the difference, then, between a six-pack and an eight-pack? Well, for one, it's two more visible abs. But eight-pack abs represent more. Eight-pack abs represent dedication, perseverance, and commitment.

What Does it Take to Get 8-Pack Abs?
Diet and exercise, and plenty of both.
You've got to eat a meal every three to four hours to keep your metabolism active. These meals should be light -- almost like snacks -- but contain the protein you'll need to work your body to its limit in the gym. Tuna and unsalted nuts are good sources of protein, but there are literally thousands of foods to choose from. Pick something that you like.
Forget about sweets. Not even every once in a while. If you're training for 8-pack abs, sweets and desserts are your mortal enemy. Avoid them like the plague.
Monitor your carbohydrate intake. Carbohydrates should be considered fuel, and over-fueling your body is going to slow the development of your 8-pack. Try to eat lean meats and limit the bread you eat.
As far as exercise is concerned, you need to make it a component of your lifestyle. That means getting some exercise every single day. Whether it's a quick jog before work, biking instead of driving, or hitting the gym, you have to burn more calories than you consume to lose fat -- and to achieve an 8-pack, you have to lose belly fat.
Sit ups and crunches are a great way to tone your ab muscles, and you can do those at home. But more complex crunches -- with a medicine ball or on a pull-up bar -- will speed up the pace at which you chisel your abdomen. Find an exercise that you enjoy performing and do it every single day -- on top of your workout regimen.
What Will 8-Pack Abs do for Me?
An 8-pack is more profound than "looking good." Yes, you will look good -- but you'll also be equipped with the confidence of a person that set out to achieve the impossible and succeeded.
You'll know that you're the most fit person in any situation; on the elevator, at the beach, or in a shopping mall, no one will be able to hold a candle to your body's perfection. You will be a god, walking among mere mortals, competing for worldly wealth and adoration.
