Please do not make the same mistake I did.
I was excited and waited patiently for this item. Only to find out it does not work in what I consider an above ground pool. I was trying to figure out how to hook the hoses up and finally gave up and called the manufacturer only to find out that this item only works in above ground pools that are permanent, whatever that means. I only know it does not work in above ground pools such as Intex. I reread the description and still cannot see where it says this. The gentleman I spoke to claimed it stated this in the description. So I am shipping it back.
I suppose it works great if you have the correct pool.
Good Item but Not for Smaller Pools 3ft or Less
I purchased this item for my 12' x 36" above ground pop-up pool. In theory, this is a great little vacuum and it sort of worked. It would make it's way around for a short period of time but then get hung up on the hose, tip over and not go anymore until I corrected it. Also, be forewarned, this would require a pretty strong filter in order for it to work. I have an upgraded Intex filter so it worked okay with my filter. It most likely would not have worked with the filter that came with my pool. Also, the connector from the supplied hoses was not a good fit into my filter intake. I ended up returning it and buying a Catfish handheld pool vac.
Cute and convient
I wish that I would have bought this last year for my above ground pool. Took only a few minutes to set up. I have an INTEX inflatable pool so I had to go to a home improvement store and buy an reducer pipe adaptor to fit in to the adapter that came with it not really a big deal but it took a little effort to get it to fit. Works very well when my pump cycles daily it scurries around and picks up any debris settled in the bottom of the pool.
Good automatic pool cleaner for the $$$
I've used this cleaner a few times now and it seems to work very well. Sometimes leaves and debris will stick in the bug and fall back into the pool when removing it, but that is a minor complaint. I'm very happy with the purchase.
We love our bug!
This pool vac works great. We have a 15'x48" Intex Easy-Set. Our bug gets the bottom spotless. I make sure there's no air in the line, start with a clean filter, and let it do all the work! I would recommend this to anyone!
