Aqua Amore donate 29,917 litres of clean water to communities in Southern India and Zambia
In 2010, London based drinks distributor Aqua Amore contributed 29,917 litres of clean water to communities previously without access to clean water, through the sale of Life Pure Water to on-trade and home delivery customers.
Soya Tribe, Southern India.
This contribution included the first of two bore wells that will supply safe, clean water to an entire community of over 1000 families of the Soya tribe in southern India.
At present, the villagers of the Soya Tribe have to walk up 12 miles to get the water which puts huge strains on their ability to develop as a community. Moreover, such was the perilous economic situation of the Soya Tribe, they have stated that when they run out of food they have been forced to sell their children.
Coupled with a programme which is setting the village up with its own textile industry to trade with and the new source of clean water under the guidance of drop4drop, the Soya Tribe have a great chance for a brighter future.
Zambia.
Additionally, the funds created by Aqua Amore's sales also enabled the drop4drop and Lubwe charities to start a wonderful project in Zambia.
Aqua Amore contributions also went towards the funding of seven wells in Zambia which will provide seven villages with clean drinking water for life. An estimated eight thousand people will benefit from clean water as a result of the projects.
Aqua Amore look forward to continuing the promising partnership with drop4drop and enabling more communities to have access to safe and clean water throughout the world.

Nanotechnology Applications for Clean Water $195 The World Health Organization in 2004 estimated approximately 1.1 billion people did not have access to clean water and that 35% of Third World residents died from water-borne illnesses. While the situation is grim, recent advances strongly indicate that many of the current water quality problems can be addresses - and potentially resolved - using nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is already having a dramatic impact on research in water quality and Nanotechnology Applications for Clean Water highlights both the challenges and the opportunities for nanotechnology to positively influence this area of environmental protection. Here you will find detailed information on breakthroughs, cutting edge technologies, current research, and future trends that may affect acceptance of widespread applications. The first four parts of the book cover specific topics including using nanotechnology for clean drinking water in both large scale water treatment plants and in point-of-use systems. For instance, recent advances show that many of the current problems involving water quality can be addressed using nanosorbents, nanocatalysts, bioactive nanoparticles, nanostructured catalytic membranes, and nanoparticle enhanced filtration. The book also discusses existing technologies and future potential for groundwater remediation, pollution prevention, and sensors. The final part discusses the inherent societal implications that may affect acceptance of widespread applications. Over 80 leading experts from around the world share their wealth of knowledge in this truly unique reference. Institutions such as Center for the Purification of Water and Systems (Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign); UCLA Water Technology Center; Carnegie Mellon University, University of Kentucky; The University of Western Ontario; Pacific Northwest National Laboratory; National Institute for Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (Japan), Munasinghe Institute for Development (Sri Lanka) and the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars are just a few of the knowledge centers represented in this book. Water quality is a serious, global issue in which government bodies and scientific communities face many challenges in ensuring clean water is available to everyone. Nanotechnology is already showing dramatic results, and this book is an attempt to share current technologies and future possibilities in reaching this goal. From the Foreword: "Researchers and practitioners may find in this volume, key challenges regarding clean water resources. The presentations may crystallize new research and education programs." - Mihail Roco, U.S. National Science Foundation and U.S. Nanotechnology Initiative . Contributors from the US, India, Canada, Japan, UK, Sri Lanka, and South Africa . Provides detailed information on breakthroughs, cutting edge technologies, current research, and future trends that may affect acceptance of widespread applications |

Clean Water Protection ACT $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Clean Water Protection Act (H.R. 1310 ) is a bill introduced in the 111th United States Congress via the House of Representatives Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment, of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. It proposes to redefine fill material to not include mining waste under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act. It was introduced by Frank Pallone and Chris Shays in the 110th Congress, and almost identical bills had been introduced in previous years. As of July 2009, H.R.1310 had 154 cosponsors. Several environmental groups such as Appalachian Voices, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth and Sierra Club, as well as many others, supported the legislation primarily as an effort to curb mountaintop removal mining. It would also affect situations similar to the Kensington Mine operation near Juneau, Alaska where a mine will be permitted to discharge mining waste into a small lake as fill. The Electric Industry and the Clean Water ACT $137.01 Noncompliance with environmental regulations is a fairly common phenomenon in the US, but is not a topic that has received much attention in the economics literature. The emphasis has been on the design of optimal standards or fees for regulating pollution, without discussing whether these are complied with. Given that compliance is imperfect, enforcement of environmental regulations presents itself as a research area with potentially important policy implications. The purpose of this study is to analyze the behavior of, on the one hand, the agency enforcing environmental laws, and, on the other hand, the regulated firms. The enforcer must decide to what degree to enforce environmental standards, while firms must decide whether or not to comply with the regulations they face. The study is mostly empirical in nature, and uses data on compliance with the Clean Water Act for a number of plants in the electric industry in the US.
