Fitting A Power Shower
If you are looking at buying and fitting a shower enclosure then space is probably the biggest factor in deciding which shower door you are going to get. If though, like a lot of people you don't have room for a separate shower enclosure then you could perhaps opt for an over bath shower. These can be just as stylish as a lot of the shower doors available.
Consider the water pressure in your system too, as this will have a bearing on which shower and related accessories you can buy. Not all showers and taps are suitable for both high and low pressure systems so be sure to take this into consideration. As a rule of thumb gravity fed systems - those which are fed from a storage tank - are considered low pressure and will therefore restrict your choices. One way of getting round this would be to have a separate pump installed (we recommend Stuart Turner pumps). On the other hand if you have a high pressure system, you should be OK and can save on the cost of having to add a separate shower pump.
Electric showers are a viable option and for these you only need a cold water supply, these type of showers are however known not to be as powerful as other showers. The problem being that the heating element is not powerful enough to heat the water if you turn it up to a high power jet. You obviously also need an electricity supply (and electrician) put in near the shower.
A power shower is without doubt the best choice, but also usually the most expensive. With these showers you can get concealed controls which add to the overall minimal look in your bathroom.
