Define Abstract Art
The literal meaning of the word Abstract means something you cannot define. Abstract art utilizes a visual language of form, colour or a line in order to create a composition. An Abstract artwork may seem to you like a painting of squares and lines, with colour blobs in between or it may seem as a sculpture that looks somewhat like giant mushrooms, etc. it is sometimes so bizarre in its style that people wonder what it could possibly mean. Abstract art relies upto a great extent upon the formal elements of colour, line, shape as well as texture in order to express the basic principles of design. The terms similar through not identical to abstract art are nonfigurative art, non-objective art and non-representational art.
Abstract art refers to modern painting and sculptures that leaves out the traditional European conception of art as the nature imitation. Mostly, in an abstract art the simplification of shapes and forms is all that matters. The origination of Abstract Art is believed to have been through cubist art in Europe. In India, Harappa and Mohenjodaro show strong evidences of the existence of abstract art. Even the frescoes of Ajanta or the bulls and elephants of Mahabalipuram could be referred to as early elements of abstract art. The tribal art of the Santhals and the Gonds can be considered another example. However this form of art acquired its identity in the decade 1910–20 and now it stands as the most characteristic form of 20th-century art.
In abstract art any reference to familiar shape is opposed. Example here could be the decorative folk art of the Banni and the Warli tribes as well as the artworks of abstract expressionists of the 20th century Europe and America. Abstract art today is the widest art category in India which involves artworks of Sunil Das, Shyamal Duttaroy and Vivan Sundaram, collages of Shakila, etc. Contemporary abstract art is becoming more popular day by day in India as well as abroad. The market for abstract art has been gaining pace. The number of abstract art buyers has increased noticeably in the past few decades.
Indian Abstract arts are becoming more popular everyday and have fetched in prices as high as Rs 9.2 million. There are a lot of art galleries across the country featuring a display of the artists' innovations and creativity.

Art Of Understanding Your Mate $9.99 "If you've ever wondered exactly what is going on in your mate's mind, you can probably find it somewhere in the pages of The Art of Understanding Your Mate. Cecil Osborne casts a clinical eye on the underlying psychological forces that drive married relationships. His common sense outlook on counseling troubled couples is based on a solid understanding of human behavior. Illuminating insights tumble from the pages of his book. In addition, Osborne has a keen ear for the spoken word. Through a liberal injection of actual dialogue, he captures the feelings of drama and tensions between husband and wife. Osborne advocates a realistic approach to marriage. He cautions couples to expect to encounter problems of incompatibility. Men and women are different. Their needs are different, as are the emotions that accompany those needs. The wonder is, Osborne points out, that there are so many successful marriages." |
